Types of Eating Disorders
Anorexia Nervosa is an emotional disorder that is recognized by constant fear of gaining weight, forbidding to maintain a healthy body weight, and an impractical perception of body image.
Bulimia Nervosa is a disorder characterized by excessive overeating, followed by frantic efforts to avoid gaining weight.
Binge-Eating is the most common eating disorder in the United States. Unlike bulimia nervosa, binge-eaters do not purge or make any frantic effort to avoid gaining weight after binging large amounts of food in a quick amount of time.
